As I start to write this post it is International Women's Day!
Something my naturopath taught me during one of our sessions was, if you are menstruating, needing extra support in your uterus is always beneficial.
She recommended I start taking a prenatal vitamin:
1. Being vegan I may need a little extra support that multivitamins just can't help with
2. It never hurts to prepare the uterus for future implantation.
3. Prenatals have all the nutrients of multivitamins but have a little extra to assist in making your uterus happy.
4. WOMEN WITH ENDO NEED FOLATE TO HELP WITH THEIR PERIODS!
3 years with Endo and I did not know this. (mind was blown)
I did still see my general practitioner this year as well, just to see where I was at on other blood levels, weight (ick), and general health. She too confirmed that the folate would help with my periods as someone with endometriosis. (again....why did no one tell me this sooner)?
Something I have learned in my ayurvedic practice is that our body takes its nutrients in stages, with the last stages being your nervous system and your bones. With women, bleeding every month, we could all use a little more support than what our regular multivitamin has to offer. Also, not all prenatal and multivitamins are created equal, but below is my favorite and also recommended by my naturopath, click the picture to order off Amazon. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions and I will answer as soon as I can.
I also still highly recommend care/of vitamins, I do not take them at the moment, since I am getting extra help with my naturopath for progress for future pregnancies.
